Dr. Winn originally hails from Tyler, TX. He is a board certified Rheumatologist and has over 30+ years of experience. He is a proud alumni of Baylor University where he completed his undergrad program as a national merit scholar. He then graduated med school from the University of Texas Southwestern and completed his residency at Wilford Hall, Lackland AFB. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 8 years. When he is not caring for his patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Nancy and their fur baby, Mal.

Ms. Schendel is originally from Runge, TX. She graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University,  and completed her Physician's Assistant program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She has been practicing as a P.A. since 2010. When she isn't treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband Tim and their three beautiful children.

South Texas Internal Medicine Associates was originally founded in 1977 and currently consists of Brian E. Winn, M.D., F.A.C.R. and Erin Schendel, PA-C, and a team of specialized staff who are dedicated to treating every patient with compassion and focusing on each person's unique situation and needs.  The practice is also bilingual.
